After the King had gone away, the people of the town were still at hand. Some of them were very rude, and one of them shot an arrow at me.   The chief man of the guard took six of these rude men, bound them hand and foot, and pushed them where I could reach them. Five of them I put into my pockets, but made as if I would eat the sixth. The poor man cried for help, and when I took out a big knife, all the people, even the soldiers, were in great fear. But I only cut the man's bonds and let him run away. I did the same with the rest of them, and from that time they were all quite friendly to me.

걸리버 여행기 (8) 왕이 떠난 후에도 그 도시 사람들은 여전히 근처에 있었습니다. 그들 가운데는 매우 거친 사람들도 더러 있었고 심지어 그 중 한 사람은 내게 화살을 쏘기까지 했습니다.   경비대 대장은 이런 난폭한 사람들 여섯 명을 붙잡아 손과 발을 꽁공 묶어서 내가 닿을 수 있는 곳에 밀어 넣었습니다. 나는 그들 가운데 다섯 명을 내 주머니 속에 집어 넣었으나, 여섯 번째 사람은 잡아 먹으려는 듯이 행동했습니다. 그 불쌍한 사람은 도와달라고 소리쳤고 내가 큰 칼을 꺼내자 모든 사람들은, 심지어 군인들조차도 아주 겁에 질렸습니다. 그러나 난, 단지 그 사람을 묶고 있는 포승을 끓고 그를 달아나게 했을 뿐이었습니다. 나는 나머지 사람들에게도 똑같은 일을 했고, 그때부터 그들은 모두 내게 아주 친절하게 대했습니다.
