▣ Running for the presidency is a profound decision.     Decision no one should make on the basis of media hype or personal ambition alone.    And so before I committed myself and my family to this race, I wanted be sure that it was    right for us and more importantly right for the country. ▣ My job is not to represent Washington to you, but to represent you to Washington.  ▣ There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of     America. ▣ Running for the presidency is a profound decision.     대통령 선거에 출마한다는 것은 중대한 결정입니다.      Decision no one should make on the basis  of media hype or personal ambition alone.      미디어의 선전이나 개인적 야심만으로 내릴 수 있는 성질의 것이 아닙니다.      And so before I committed myself and my family to this race,      그래서 저는 제 자신과 저희 가족들의 헌신이 요구되는 이 레이스에 뛰어 들기 전에      I wanted be sure that it was right for us and more importantly right for the country.      이것이 우리 모두에게 나아가 우리나라를 위해 올바른 선택이라는 확신을 갖고 싶었습니다.    * hype 선전, 광고 ▣ My job is not to represent Washington to you, but to represent you to Washington.      저의 역할은 국민에 대한 정부의 대변자가 아니라 정부에 대한 국민의 대변자가 되는 것입니다. ▣ There is not a liberal America and a conservative America     - there is the United States of America.     진보의 미국도, 보수의 미국도 존재하지 않습니다. 단지 미합중국이 있을 뿐입니다.    There is not a black America and a white America and latino America and asian America     - there's the United States of America.      흑인들의 미국도, 백인들의 미국도, 라틴계의 미국도, 아시아계의 미국도 존재하지 않습니다.    그저 미합중국만이 있을 뿐입니다. Chan's Advice!   “미래를 위해 오늘의 현실적 가치를 과감히 버리자”는 오바마의 호소를 미국 국민은 받아들였습니다. 이런 가슴 뭉클한 세기적 드라마가 어디 또 있겠습니까? 노예해방보다도 더 위대한 혁명이 미국에서 일어났고 이것이 세계의 희망이 되길 간절히 기도해 봅니다. 첫번째 말 - 모든 리더는 이렇게 스스로 검증의 과정을 거쳐야 합니다. 리더들이 갖출 자질 중 중요한 것 하나가 self-awareness입니다. 저도 경영을 하면서 모든 리더들에게 강하게 요구하는 능력입니다. 리더 스스로 자신이 갖춘 역량, 갖추지 못한 역량이 무엇인지를 알 때 갖추지 못한 역량을 외부로부터 확보할 수 있고, 이를 통해 조직을 성공적으로 이끌 수 있습니다. 두번째 말 - 링컨이 한 말 'by the people, for the people, of the people'을 표현만 바꾼 것입니다. 누구의 표현이 더 와 닿으세요? 세번째 말 - 통합의 의지 표현, 우리나라 대통령들도 늘 해왔던 말입니다.
