[미국문화] 워싱톤이 여기가 아니라고요? The United States covers a very large geographical area and there are different cities and regions that have the same names.   There are cities named Rochester in both the state of New York and the state of Minnesota. Both Missouri and Kansas have cities named Kansas city.   미국은 넓은 지역이기 때문에 같은 이름을 가진 도시나 지역들이 있다.   로체스터는 뉴욕에도 있고 미네소타에도 있다. 미주리와 켄자스 둘 다 켄자스라는 도시가 있다. On an airplane I sat next to a European man who had made business appointments in Seattle, Washington.   But his travel agent made airline and hotel reservations in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States-thousands of miles away, on the opposite coast.   He was actually flown to Washington, DC, before the mistake was discovered.   When you are making plans to visit, be sure that you and your travel agent understand precisely which city and state you intend to travel to.   내 비행기 옆 좌석에 앉았던 유럽인은 워싱톤의 시애틀에서 약속이 있었다.   그러나 여행사가 정반대 편에 있는 미국의 수도 워싱톤에 예약을 잡아 버렸다.   그는 영문도 모르고 미국 전역을 날아다녀야 했다.   따라서 미국을 방문할 때는 항상 도시와 주를 확인해야 한다.     (맨 왼쪽 위가 워싱톤 주, 오른쪽 중간이 미국의 수도 워싱톤)
