"I wish we had some of those chestnuts." said the Monkey. "Let's try to get them. You try, Pussy. Your paws are so much like hands, and I am sure you can get some." This pleased the Cat, so she put her paw into the fire. She got one chestnut out, but the hot coals burned her paw. "That's fine!" said the Monkey. "I knew you could do it. Do you think you could get another?" Poor Puss! She tried again and again. Soon the nuts were all out, but her paw was badly burned.
